Healz.ai has made it possible for users in rural areas to consult remote doctors and specialists about their health issues without any hassle. This is particularly crucial as telehealth services have surged in popularity, especially in underserved regions, providing timely access to medical advice and reducing the burden on local healthcare facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic [2].
This achievement came about after we introduced a couple of innovative features at Healz.ai.
- Sending health queries via SMS, a method that has been shown to improve patient engagement and accessibility in remote areas [1].
- Phone consultations, which allow for direct communication with healthcare providers, have been found to enhance patient satisfaction and reduce anxiety associated with traditional healthcare visits [5].
Consider a user from a remote village, for example.
1. Register with Healz.ai
To register with Healz.ai, the user sends an SMS to 56767 with the text HEALZ R
2. Ask health questions to the doctors
To inquire, the user sends an SMS to 56767 with the text HEALZ Q
3. Receive medical advice from doctors and specialists on Healz.ai
The user can log in to www.healz.ai to view the answers provided by the doctor. If the doctor has sent any PDF prescription, the user can download and print it. This digital management of prescriptions is part of a broader trend towards integrating telemedicine with electronic health records, which enhances the continuity of care [4].
4. Attach any health records (if needed)
If the doctor requests the user to undergo any laboratory tests, the user can visit the nearest lab and get the tests done. The reports can then be sent to the same doctor after uploading on healz.ai. The doctor can examine the lab report and provide their medical advice along with the prescription.
5. Schedule a phone consultation with the doctor
After receiving medical advice, the user may feel more at ease and decide to book a phone consultation with the doctor for further discussion if required. This step is important as studies suggest that follow-up consultations can significantly improve patient outcomes and satisfaction [3].
Once the user books a phone consultation, the doctor will receive a notification and an update in their calendar. At the scheduled time, the doctor will click a “connect patient on call” button. The user will then receive an automated conference call from the server that connects them with the doctor's phone.
6. Address your health issues and resume your daily routine
We're kind of going back to the days when you felt like you had a doctor right beside you, without the inconvenience of travel and long waits.
7. Benefits
- Reduce travel expenses, making healthcare more accessible for those in remote locations.
- Skip long waiting times associated with traditional healthcare visits.
- Use it from your ‘home,' ‘office,' or while you're ‘on the go,' facilitating a more flexible approach to healthcare.
Healz.ai is currently receiving over 100 health queries via SMS each day, and more phone consultations are being scheduled since this service began recently. This increase reflects a growing acceptance and reliance on telehealth solutions in the community.
Healz.ai's mission is to integrate telehealth with electronic medical records (EMR) of hospitals and personal health records to simplify and organize healthcare better, aligning with current trends in digital health innovation.
